Job Title: Postdoc Position on Developing a Coupled Fluid-Solid Constitutive Law

Description of Position: The Integrated MultiPhysics Laboratory at the University of Utah is looking for a qualified postdoc candidate to join the lab on a Sandia sponsored project. The appointee will conduct fundamental research in fluid-solid mechanics by:--implementing a Lagrangian viscoplastic model to Goma--developing and implementing an Eulerian version of the viscoplastic to Goma--Developing a coupled fluid-solid frame work to investigate the evolution of yield stress leading to viscoplasticity either through an Eulerian method (level set) or an ALE method.The position requires strong solid and fluid mechanics background, good programing skills using C, strong knowledge of Finite Element Methods, strong written and communication skills. The appointee will be working with Prof. Pania Newell as well as other collaborators from Sandia National Laboratories and other universities involved in the project.

Minimum Qualifications: The candidate must have a Doctorate in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Computational Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field. Candidate is also required to have a great programing skills.
