Job Title: Postdoctoral Researcher in Cardiovascular Mechanics

Description of Position: The Marsden lab at Stanford University has an opening for a postdoc starting fall/winter 2020 in the area of cardiovascular modeling and simulation. The position is funded by NIH and DoD grants. We are looking for exceptional candidates with strong foundations in finite element methodology and solver implementation for CFD, FSI, and/or tissue mechanics. Prior experience in cardiovascular disease or biomedical applications is a plus but is not required. Fundamental training in fundamentals of fluid and / or solid mechanics and finite elements / numerical methods is a must. Candidates should be excited about contributing to open source software projects. Potential research areas for this position could include: - Vascular fluid solid growth simulations- Cardiac mechanics and electrophysiology- Finite element methods development- Fluid structure interaction and cardiac flows

Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Computational Science, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering or related fields.
