Job Title: Assistant, Associate, Full Professor in Human Performance and Data Science

Description of Position: The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) has embarked on a cluster hiring plan in the area of Human Performance to establish research and educational excellence focused on improving human performance for health, elite sport and military applications. The Human Performance Initiative (HPI) is a collaboration between UTSA's College of Engineering and Integrated Design and College for Health, Community and Policy. Successful candidates for the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professorship in Human Performance and Data Science will demonstrate (1) a record of high-quality research and scholarship, and external funding capabilities, (2) excellence in undergraduate and graduate education or evidence of the ability to teach, and (3) a commitment to inclusion and diversity. The Human Performance Initiative will serve as the nexus for leading biomedical innovators to provide real world instruction, thought leadership and research domain expertise to solve intractable problems in Human Performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • A doctorate degree in a related field, outstanding research, teaching and funding record appropriate for appointment at the desired rank (for those seeking appointments with tenure, this is contingent upon Board of Regents' approval)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in engineering (biomedical, mechanical, environmental, chemical, systems), artificial intelligence, and/or data science applied to the following domains: exercise physiology, kinesiology or biomechanics; sports medicine; rehabilitation; neurosensory or behavioral sciences; and/or sports science.
