Job Title: PhD Research Assistant

Description of Position: We have multiple PhD research assistant openings (Spring or Fall 2022) in the areas of computational mechanics, scientific machine learning, and uncertainty quantification. @Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, University of Notre Dame.

Possible research projects

  • Scientific and physics-informed machine learning,
  • Data-driven and physics-based modeling of manufacturing of composites,
  • Uncertainty quantification and Bayesian learning

(Some of the positions will be co-advised by Dr. Jian-xun Wang and Dr. Tengfei Luo)

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, applied math, physics or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS
  • Strong interest in computational science/modeling
  • Basic background in computational mechanics and numerical methods
