Location of Position: Austin, Texas

Employing Institution: The Oden Institute, The University of Texas at Austin

Description of Position: There are two immediate postdoctoral positions in Prof. Tan Bui-Thanh' group (see more below) at the Oden Institute for computational engineering and sciences, at the UT Austin. These positions are supported by two NSF grants for 3 years and thus the postdoctoral position can be renewed at least for three years. The starting salary is $62K/year and can be increased each year based on performance and productivity.

Responsibilities: Conduct research on either of these:

  1. Scientific deep learning for solutions of PDEs, inverse problems and uncertainty quantification governed by PDEs.
  2. Machine learning and mathematical methods for the deployment and monitoring digital twins

For any of these research areas, we conduct research in both theoretical/algorithm developments and implementations for appropriate applications.

Minimum Qualifications: Prior experience/background in one or more of the following are important but not necessary:

  1. Deep learning and machine learning
  2. Computational applied math
  3. Computational science and engineering
  4. PDEs (numerical or theoretical)
