Job Title: Assistant Professor in Materials Modelling and Computational Mechanics

Description of Position: The Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Materials Modelling and Computational Mechanics. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2023.

We are seeking an emerging scholar with an original and innovative research program related to materials modelling and computational mechanics to establish a strong research program within the University of Calgary and the Department. Expertise in non-linear computational mechanics, with an emphasis on material modelling, coupled multi-physics and multi-scale problems is desired.

Minimum Qualifications: To be eligible for consideration, candidates should have a Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Science, Materials Engineering, or a closely related discipline by the start date. Applicants with relevant industrial experience are encouraged to apply. Strong oral and written English communication skills are required. All candidates should be eligible for registration as a professional engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
