Description of Position: The Department of Civil and Construction Engineering (https://cce.byu.edu/) at Brigham Young University (BYU) seeks applications from highly qualified candidates for a full-time, continuing-faculty-status-track position in engineering mechanics and/or structural engineering. The department will also consider outstanding candidates in other disciplines, including construction, environmental, geotechnical, transportation, and water resources engineering.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses primarily in the area(s) of expertise
  • Developing a strong, externally funded research program wherein both graduate and undergraduate students are mentored and research results are published in top journals
  • Making significant contributions to professional societies and the engineering profession as well as participating in service opportunities within the department, college, and university

Minimum Qualifications: An earned doctorate in a relevant field is required, and initial rank will be consistent with qualifications and experience.
